Over-the-Rhine Oral History Project
From September 2016 to November 2019, I worked on the Over-the-Rhine Museum’s oral history initiative. I conducted oral history interviews, completed transcripts, and completed several oral history training sessions. The goal was to build a diverse collection of community stories about the well-known Cincinnati neighborhood. Some highlights include: interviewing patrons of the Over-the-Rhine Senior Center about how the neighborhood has changed; talking with Mary Louise Goulding about growing up in Cincinnati in the 1930s and 40s and her father’s flower shop; and reflecting with longtime salon owner Ronald Sanders about the joy and challenges of running a business in the neighborhood.
